Dr Claire Howells (MBBS, DCH (Westmead), BBiotech(Hons)) (she/her/hers) grew up in Tasmania and studied medicine at the University of Tasmania, graduating in 2014 with clinical distinction. Claire spent time working at the Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General Hospital and Royal Children’s Hospital, before entering General Practice.

Claire enjoys all aspects of General Practice. Claire especially enjoys the opportunity to provide ongoing holistic care to patients and families. Her particular interest is in women’s and child and adolescent health. She has additional qualifications in these areas including the Diploma of Child Health and FPAA National Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health (theory). Claire has extended experience working in the Paediatric team as a Resident and Registrar during her postgraduate work. Claire will be completing an extended skills term in Allergy Medicine this year.

Outside of work she loves being a mum, baking, keeping active and slowly learning how to garden.

Claire is working towards obtaining her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
